Roberto Mancini has ordered his Manchester City players to banish thoughts of Wembley and clinch a Champions League spot.
Mancini is determined the Blues do not become distracted by their first FA Cup Final in 30 years and miss out on their No.1 goal of a top-four finish.
City are just one point ahead of Tottenham in the fight for the last Champions League place and Mancini says it’s vital they stay focused.
“What’s important now is to focus on the next four games in the Premier League, and after that think of the final,” he said.
“It’s important we stay in fourth position. We have another six games, three at home and three away, so it depends on us.
“I think if we win three or four of them, we have a good chance. It’s impossible to think about the FA Cup Final now because in these four weeks before then we have four very important games .
“Everything is in our own hands and we don’t have to depend on Tottenham or any other team. If we win our games, we go into the Champions League.”
City face Blackburn at Ewood Park tonight and Mancini is anxious they do not flop like they did in their last Premier League away game at Anfield.
“We must remember the Liverpool game – if you don’t play 100 per cent it is impossible that you can win the game,” he said.
