Robin van Persie set an Arsenal goal-scoring record – then took a volley of abuse from QPR’s Neil Warnock.
The Dutch striker scored his 35th Premier League goal in 2011 – one short of equalling Alan Shearer’s record of most strikes in a calendar year.
But he did overtake the watching Thierry Henry to set a new club record.
However, Rangers boss Warnock claimed: “Van Persie gets away with murder. It’s the way he uses his elbows and how he fouls our centre-half.”
But Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said: “Robin again scored the goal that brought us the points. He has had a great 2011 and I don’t see why he shouldn’t have a great 2012.”
