Steve Clarke has revealed how Roman Abramovich gave Chelsea a Champions League offer they could not refuse.
Russian owner Abramovich has bankrolled the Blues to the tune of more than £600million.
Assistant first team coach Clarke said: "Roman said a few weeks ago 'you are definitely going to Russia, I just don't know whether you are going to Siberia or Moscow' - so I'm just glad we are going to Moscow.
"We have made great strides forward in the last 10 years.
"And the Champions League would be another stride forward, so we have to look to achieve that."
