Rovers snap up Nielsen

Tranmere have signed Manchester City goalkeeper Gunnar Nielsen on a six-month loan deal.

Nielsen, 24, has signed a one-year contract extension to his current deal at City but will now head to Prenton Park in search of regular first-team football.

Nielsen made a dramatic debut for City away to Arsenal last April, stepping off the bench when Shay Given injured his shoulder to keep a clean sheet.
