Ipswich boss Roy Keane last night told fans: "I've never been Mr Average."
Expectations are high among the Portman Road faithful after the 3-1 win at home to Blackpool last Saturday saw the club move out of the Championship bottom three.
Keane is delighted that supporters are now looking towards the top of the table and he declared: "Let's go for it."
The ex-Sunderland promotion winner, whose team have a visit to Scunthorpe today, went on: "We all believe we can achieve things here. Talk is cheap, but I have faith in my own ability. I've never been average in my life."
While Manchester United all-time great Keane is heartened by solid foundations laid in a ten game unbeaten run, there have been far too many draws for his liking.
Occasional wins will not send his side soaring and he said: "Lots of teams can win games. Good teams keep winning."
He continued: "I think we may have turned the corner. We're out of the bottom three, but no one at this club is taking anything for granted.
"I'm fairly contented with the way things have been going, but there's still lots and lots of work to be done.
"There has to be no let-up and we know we face a very stiff test against a Scunthorpe team that have done well to bounce back into this division."
Striker Jon Walters and midfield man Grant Leadbitter miss out at Glanford Park this afternoon with suspensions.
The pair have been automatic for Keane this term. But the Ipswich boss insisted: "I've got good numbers here. Other players have opportunities to stake claims."
