Roy Keane to axe 15 players in Sunderland clearout

Roy Keane has started a clearout that could see up to 15 players quit.

The Sunderland boss wants to spend £50million on stars such as Damien Duff, Julio Arca, Stephen Ireland, Kevin Doyle, Nicky Shorey and Jonny Evans. But Ian Harte, Stephen Wright, Andy Cole and Stan Varga have been released.

And Ross Wallace, Paul McShane, Anthony Stokes, David Connolly and Liam Miller may quit.
