Giggs: United v Liverpool is still the biggest of them all

Ryan Giggs says ­Manchester United ­versus Liverpool is still the ­biggest game in the ­Premier League.

The United winger claims he was surprised to see the Merseysiders fail to finish in the top four last season.

Giggs said: “United against Liverpool is still the game you look forward to at the start of the season. Whether it is at Old Trafford at Anfield the atmosphere is ­always ferocious.

“I was amazed Liverpool didn’t finish in the top four last season after going very close to the title the previous year.

“But Manchester ­United and Liverpool will always be rivals ­regardless of how the two teams are doing.”
