Shawcross must forget Ramsey nightmare to win World Cup call, says Pulis

Tony Pulis has told Ryan Shawcross to recover from his Aaron Ramsey nightmare and concentrate on saving his World Cup dream.
Stoke defender Shawcross has endured a difficult fortnight after the challenge that left Arsenal’s Ramsey with a broken leg.
But the 22-year-old has completed his three-match suspension and will be in contention for Stoke’s game with Spurs next weekend.
And Pulis wants Shawcross – who was an unused substitute in England’s friendly against Egypt – to ensure he is still in contention for a place on the plane to South Africa.
He said: “It has been a difficult time for Ryan, but he’s now got to get his head down and get back to what he does best. We were delighted to see him selected for England. The next step is to get in the side, not just be on the bench.
“If he wants to keep in the England team he’s got to do well for us.
“That’s his challenge for the rest of the season.”
