Samuel Eto'o to earn £200k a week with Manchester City and becomes Britain's best-paid player

Samuel Eto'o will become the best-paid player in Britain when he signs a staggering £200,000-plus-a-week contract with Manchester City.
Barcelona star Eto'o has thrashed out a deal with mega-rich City as part of a £30m transfer which leaves the Premier League's top earners in the shade - even if he DROPPED his initial larger demands.
And amazingly Eto'o's prospective team-mates Robinho and Carlos Tevez will form the top-earning trio in the elite - with even Manchester United's winners behind them in the pay table.
Eto'o's move from the Nou Camp to the Blue Camp has been discussed for weeks, with the Cameroon striker even sorting out accommodation in case the right terms were agreed.
It is a staggering piece of business by City who are paying around £30 million to Barca for the African star who is just a year away from the end of his contract. The contract is so good even Barcelona president Joao Laporta is shocked.
Eto'o has a stratospheric offer from City, which would convert him into the best paid player in the world," Laporte said yesterday.
"It's starting to become clear that he has this monster offer.
"He wants to stay but an offer like this is very difficult to refuse.
"If Eto'o accepts this stratospheric offer we will have to bring in someone."
Eto'o is the 'name' player that City's wealthy Arab owners craved and now boss Mark Hughes will be under pressure to deliver a trophy to the blue half of the city for the first time in 33 years.
After months of rejections from other superstars - headed by Brazilian Kaka and including an inquiry for Barca team-mate Lionel Messi - City finally found one who would come.
Eto'o is already popular with City fans as he scored the first goal in Barca's Champions League triumph against deadly rivals United - his last goal for the Spanish champions.
However with a record of 108 goals in 145 games for Barce City have every reason to dream that they have got value for money.
Eto'o, 28, could have stayed at Barca for one more year and left for nothing - so the Catalan giants were glad to do business and they will use the cash to bid for Valencia's Spanish ace David Villa.
Barca needed an influx of money to compete with Real Madrid and Manchester United for Villa and they think that the £30 million from Eto'o gives them a chance against those wealthy rivals.
