Setanta lose Premier League live games

The death knell sounded for Setanta TV last night after the Premier League snatched back live games for next season.
A last-ditch bid by the broadcaster to secure funding to make a scheduled £30million payment failed, and at 6.15pm yesterday the league wielded the axe.
Setanta's 46-game package will be sold. The Premier League hope to announce a buyer within days. Cashstrapped Setanta was warned last week it must pay up.
A Premier League statement said: "It is with regret that we announce Setanta has been unable to meet their obligations. As such the existing licence agreement between us has been terminated."
Focus will now switch to Setanta's other contracts - with the FA for England and FA Cup matches, the Scottish Premier League and the Blue Square conference.
Pga Tour golf, boxing, Indian Premier League cricket and Premiership rugby are all owed money. Sky will bid for one of the 23-game packages.
