Seyi Olofinjana: Hull boss Phil Brown has made mistakes

Seyi Olofinjana has turned up the heat on his own manager by insisting Phil Brown has made mistakes and needs to improve if he is to save his job and Hull from relegation.
The Tigers face another crunch clash at home to Stoke on Sunday, with Brown knowing he is on borrowed time. West Ham’s midweek win has plunged the Tigers to second from bottom of the table and new chairman Adam Pearson has told Brown results have to improve and fast.
Olofinjana will face his former club and insists he has no regrets about leaving Tony Pulis’s men for a relegation scrap with the Tigers. But he claims Brown - and the players - need to do some soul searching.
He said: “The manager has got his own faults and he’s got his own improvements to make.
“But the same goes for the players, we’re paid heavily to do a job and when we don’t get results, it’s not always down to the manager.
“We have to be honest, we’ve been doing that in the camp. We know when we make mistakes and when we’ve not done enough.
“But points and winning games bring back that confidence. It doesn’t matter how we win, whether we score in the first minute or in the 89th, we just need that win.”
Brown has been promised time to turn things around but knows he will be sacked if his side suffer a crushing defeat.
Olofinjana said: “Since the beginning of the season it has been very, very tough. We’ve not met the standards that we envisaged, but that's football for you. Sometimes you’re down there but we know that it can only get better from here.
“I have no regrets about coming here, not one per cent. I’m very happy that I’ve come here, I’ve enjoyed every bit of it. We come to training every day with smiles on our faces because we believe that at some point it’s going to happen for us.
“This season is ticking away, and we know that, but the earlier the better. There are a few performances where we know we could have done better but we need to scrap out results here and there.
“When points come along, you get more confidence and you have abilities to do what you want to do.
“At the minute, you are thinking that all the pressure is going to be on me.
“The chairman has come in and I’m very sure that he’s made changes to the club, positive changes that can only help us."
