'Sick joke' as potless Portsmouth offer fans financial advice

Crisis club Portsmouth are selling financial advice to their supporters - days after becoming the first Premier League team to go into administration.
Despite the club's £70million-plus debts, fans visiting the club’s website are given the option of visiting Pompey’s “PFC Financial Services” division, which claims to bring everyday financial solutions to supporters’ families.
The club says Portsmouth FC Financial Services “is a new arm to the club where our aim is to bring you some everyday financial products and solutions that our supporters and families have need for.”
The club even gives advice on managing savings and recommends the club’s “Portsmouth FC” branded credit cards as a solution to money problems.
One fan said: “It’s got to be a sick joke. How can they offer us advice on managing our finances after everything that’s happened? It should be the other way round.”
Last week, anxious to avoid a winding-up order from HM Revenue & Customs over an unpaid tax bill of over £12million, the club was placed into administration.
Portsmouth are the first Premier League club to go into administration and now face near-certain relegation after being docked nine points by league chiefs.
But despite their financial difficulties, yesterday the club were still offering fans a number of financial services on its website.
