Wayne Rooney will be fit to lead Manchester United's attack in tomorrow's decisive Champions League tie with AC Milan.
Sir Alex Ferguson admitted he thought Rooney had no chance of recovering from a knee injury the striker had aggravated on England duty.
But Rooney came through a full training session this morning and Fergie confirmed he will start at Old Trafford in the second leg of the last 16 tie, with United leading 3-2.
"Wayne is fit," said Fergie. "I'm glad to say he's fit. He's shown a great improvement from Saturday morning.
"He was a real doubt but he's okay for us, which is great news. But unfortunately, Wes Brown is out. His career has been blighted by long-term injuries.
"And now he's got another one. He's got a broken foot and he'll be out for four to six weeks, but we hope to get him back at some stage before the end of the season."
