Sir Alex Ferguson furious over UEFA's threat to ban Wayne Rooney

Sir Alex Ferguson yesterday erupted over UEFA's threat to ban Wayne Rooney.
Ferguson is furious that UEFA could suspend the Manchester United star for up to five matches for stamping on Aalborg's Kasper Risgard.
Uefa are studying video evidence of the incident during Wednesday's Champions League game at Old Trafford, which was missed by referee Laurent Duhamel, and will rule on Monday if Rooney will be charged.
The England striker could be banned until the semi-finals if UEFA decide he committed a "serious assault" according to their disciplinary code.
A terse Ferguson claimed he did not want to speak about Rooney before losing his temper when pressed. "I'm not going to discuss it," fumed the United manager.
In a bizarre rant, Ferguson even claimed there was a witch hunt against Rooney.
"I think you press guys have created the most of it and you're not getting anything from this club at all on Wayne Rooney," he said. "So that's it finished. OK?
"It doesn't matter, I'm not caring. You play your part and don't kid on. Look, I think you play a part.
"You sit there trying to come the innocent party. You know fine well the part you play in it.
You're never off that phone to UEFA. It's finished. I would not be surprised if you wanted him banned. I don't think you do us any favours. I'm not discussing Rooney any more."
