Sir Alex Ferguson has warned Wayne Rooney to get used to life on the bench at Manchester United - starting today against Bolton.
Rooney has started all but one of United's seven games this season, but is set to be named as a substitute for Wanderers' visit to Old Trafford.
Fergie is likely to pair Dimitar Berbatov and Carlos Tevez in attack, supported by Cristiano Ronaldo.
Tevez has not started in the past two games and boss Fergie warned Rooney he must expect to be among the subs from time to time.
"If I'm going to leave one of them out at any time I have to make sure it's the right game I'm leaving them out of and also for the right reasons," said Fergie. "Tevez will be involved against Bolton. It's about keeping the players fresh."
