Tottenham have agreed a £1.5million deal to sign South African World Cup star Bongani Khumalo.
The SuperSport United captain will move to White Hart Lane in January after impressing boss Harry Redknapp during a trial last month.
Swaziland-born Khumalo, 23, flew to London yesterday [Thursday] to discuss personal terms. His advisor Glyn Binkin has already held talks with Spurs officials.
The 6ft centre-back played in all South Africa's games at the World Cup finals, and scored in their 2-1 win over France.
His fee, 17 million Rand, is a record in his home country.
A source close to the deal said: "Tottenham have requested that Khumalo be allowed to train with them again when the SuperSport fixture calendar allows him to travel to England.
"SuperSport's next game is on October 16, and that is why they allowed him to take the trip to England."
