Spurs boss Harry Redknapp tells his players not to hit the bar

Harry Redknapp has told his Tottenham players to steer clear of nightclubs - even if they have a famous win to toast.
King ’Arry has already collected more points from Spurs’ first game of the season, a deserved 2-1 win against Liverpool, than they managed in eight games under the muchos cobblers of Juande Ramos last term.
And although Spurs will be without England defender Ledley King at Hull on Wednesday night, Redknapp could go top of the embryonic Premier League table by winning at the KC Stadium.
But Redknapp is still on sentry duty after David Bentley’s drink-drive shame last week, and he has ordered his players to be more discreet in their socialising than falling out of clubs on the graveyard shift.
He said: “I don’t need the aggravation of footballers going into nightclubs - there’s no need for it.
"In the modern game, players need to dedicate themselves for eight or nine months of the year - for great rewards - and make sure they are super-fit athletes.
“I can’t be with them 24 hours a day, holding their hands and making sure they are behaving themselves. It’s up to them to adhere to the rules.
“By all means they can go out for dinner with their wives and have a glass of wine with their meals, but I don't see any reason for them to go out clubbing and get drunk.”
Alan Huton and Pascal Chimbonda will come into contention to replace King against the Tigers, with Vedran Corluka likely to move across from right-back to partner Sebastien Bassong in central defence.
