Stephen Appiah offered to Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has been offered the chance to sign Ghana captain Stephen Appiah as an emergency midfielder.

The Arsenal boss is desperate for midfield cover after he missed out in the transfer window.

And Appiah, 27, is now a free agent, having left Turkish club Fenerbahce.
