Stephen Warnock in line for Newcastle after handing in transfer request

Blackburn's Stephen Warnock has handed in a transfer request and opened the door to a £4million switch to Newcastle.

The England left back, 26, is disillusioned at Ewood Park after Mark Hughes left for Manchester City and wants a fresh start under Kevin Keegan.

Meanwhile, Valencia have told Blackburn they are still willing to sell their Serbian striker Nikola Zigic, despite a move to Stoke falling through.
