Stoke slam the door on Obafemi Martins

Obafemi Martins has been snubbed by Stoke City after chairman Peter Coates claimed they do not want the Newcastle striker.

The Toon are desperate to offload Martins, who earns £65,000-a-week, to slash their wage bill as they prepare for life in the Championship.

But Coates said: "There's nothing in that one. We have not had any contact or discussions about him at all."
