Stoke City have signed Wales central defender Danny Collins from Sunderland in a £2.75million deadline-day deal.
The 29-year-old makes the move to the Britannia Stadium after Black Cats boss Steve Bruce bought Michael Turner, who also plays in central defence, from Hull in a £12m deal on Monday.
Collins was an unused sub as Sunderland lost 1-0 to Tony Pulis's side on Saturday.
The Welshman, who started his career as a forward at Chester City, had a long spell in non-league football with Vauxhall Motors, where he moved into the heart of the defence.
In 2004, he joined Sunderland, helping them to promotion to the Premier League in 2005 and again in 2007. He was named the supporters' player of the year in 2008 and 2009.
He made his international debut for Wales in 2005 and has racked up six caps to date.
