Stoke move for Ipswich captain

Stoke have made a move to sign Ipswich captain Jon Walters.

Town boss Roy Keane has to offload players to generate funds for new signings after blowing his budget last season.

And Potters manager Tony Pulis is a long-time admirer of striker Walters, 26, who is a former Blackburn trainee.

The Premier League club want to bolster their attack as Dave Kitson can leave and they are also targeting West Ham's Carlton Cole.
