Sunderland to make £7m move for Blackburn's Benni McCarthy

Sunderland boss Roy Keane is making a £7million move for Blackburn's South African hit man Benni McCarthy - and is bidding to beat Turkish club Galatasaray for his signature.
Keane is approaching old mate Paul Ince with an offer for the hit man who had a prolific start to his Premier League career before having an average second season at Rovers.
Ince may sell McCarthy to raise cash for other players although Blackburn are optimistically looking for £10m for the striker.
Sunderland have money to spend and switched to McCarthy after running into problems signing Louis Saha from Manchester United. And Keane wants an answer fast.
McCarthy knows he may struggle to start the season with Rovers, while Ince is still working within a tight budget. This would let him wheel and deal.
The signs are that Sunderland will have more pulling power for McCarthy than Galatasaray.
