Today's Big Question: What next for Ronaldo and Man United?
Published 11:35 20/06/08 By By Dan Silver
The Cristiano Ronaldo transfer saga rumbled inexorably on this morning as Manchester United responded to the winger's revelation last night that a move away from Old Trafford would be a "dream" and a "step forward".
The club re-iterated their hardline stance that the player wasn't for sale, and that they wouldn't listen to any offers for him.
However, rumours suggest that a £100m deal could actually be in the offing and that, given Ronaldo is about to undergo an operation on his injured foot and then recuperate on a post-Euro 2008 holiday, he might not actually return to Manchester at all.
What will happen next? Is Ronaldo destined for Spain? Is there anything Manchester United can do to keep hold of him? And should he leave, will the Reds be able to cope without him?
