Redknapp: Sol was desperate to leave Arsenal in 2006 - and they wanted him out

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says he is stunned by Sol Campbell's return to Arsenal.
Speaking ahead of tonight's North London derby, Redknapp said he was amazed the former England defender went back to a club he seemed desperate to leave in 2006.
After five trophy-laden years with Arsenal, Campbell had his contract cancelled at the end of the 2006 season and signed for Redknapp at Portsmouth.
The Spurs boss said: "I could never see him going back to Arsenal in a million years. I never thought he would want to go anywhere near Arsenal again. When I took him, he wanted out and they wanted him out as well. He just went: 'No, I don't want to play there any more.'
"I wouldn't want to say what he told me but he wasn't happy. He just felt he didn't want to be there and he was desperate to get out. I never thought Arsenal would take him back, either. They were very pleased to let him go before.
"When I took him to Portsmouth he wanted out and, from what I heard, they wanted him out as well. But the amount of money he left behind was incredible - the money he was getting at Portsmouth compared to what he was getting at Arsenal, he was losing out on about £3million a year."
Redknapp warns Campbell: 'Spurs fans haven't forgiven you'
