Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp will make a £3million swoop for Portsmouth keeper David James when the transfer window opens in January.
Redknapp is ready to go back and raid his former club after identifying the England No.1, 38, as the man to take over from Spurs' blundering Brazilian keeper Heurelho Gomes, with whom he has lost patience.
James is understood to relish the opportunity of working with Redknapp once again - and sources close to both camps claim the deal is certain to go through in the New Year.
