Spurs keeper blasts City's spending

Tottenham keeper Heurelho Gomes has warned Manchester City that money cannot buy success.
Mega-rich City boss Roberto Mancini has splashed the cash this summer after being pipped to a Champions League place by Spurs last season.
City face Tottenham on the opening day of the Premier League season having signed up Spain World Cup winner David Silva and Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure, and still trying to clinch a deal for James Milner.
Brazilian Gomes admits Spurs cannot compete in the transfer market but insists their team spirit is more important than City’s big names.
Gomes said: “You never win things with names alone, you need to do it every game as a team, not only as names. They have lots of big-name players but last season I don’t think they performed at their best.
“With the players Manchester City have, they need to do better than they did last season. If they put all their names on the pitch and work as a team, then it will be a great team.”
