Harry Redknapp is ready to make a cut-price move for Bordeaux full-back Mathieu Chalme.
Redknapp is ready to allow Alan Hutton go in January as he looks to shake-up his squad, with West Ham keen on the Scottish ace.
Spurs boss Redknapp is desperate to raise funds as he looks to strengthen his squad with Real Madrid’s Ruud van Nistelrooy on his wanted list, as first revealed on MirrorFootball on December 24.
Tottenham have lined up Chalme after watching the French defender in Bordeaux’s draw with Marseille on Sunday night.
Chalme, 29, is available on a free transfer in the summer so Spurs can do a cut-price deal and offload Hutton to free up funds for a January merry-go-round.
But Redknapp must also offload Roman Pavlyuchenko and trim his strike force before signing van Nistelrooy and his other targets.
Redknapp also fancies Liverpool’s Ryan Babel, but his chances of landing Matt Upson have faded after West Ham’s takeover and they are in the hunt for Palermo’s £11m Danish defender Simon Kjaer.
