Jermain Defoe has given the north London rivalry an extra edge by matching Jack Wilshere's bet over which club will finish highest.
Wilshere makes £3,000 Twitter bet with Spurs fans
Wilshere last week promised to give £3000 to charity if Arsenal are unable to rein in Spurs and end up finishing behind Harry Redknapp's men.
Defoe believes Tottenham WILL keep the Gunners at bay and has also pledged to give £3000 to charity if Gunners end up on top.
Writing on Twitter, the in-form Spurs striker said: "Hear that @JackWilshere. "I'll take on your bet 3g to charity if spurs finish above Arse if not all my arsenal followers send me £1 4 charity."
Spurs can go second - eight points ahead of Arsenal - if they beat 18th-placed Bolton at home on Saturday.
The Gunners travel to second-bottom Wigan looking to get back to winning ways after being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Fulham last weekend.
Defoe believes his Tottenham side can to even better than seeing off their rivals from down the Seven Sisters Road.
The England marksman has backed boss Harry Redknapp's belief that Spurs are live title contenders.
Defoe said yesterday: "The manager thinks we can win the Premier League and I can't see why not.
"We've got a winning mentality and a belief that it doesn't matter who we play, we can win. The squad is unbelievable.
"We've got two good teams who can compete in the Premier League. When we play like we can, when we pass quickly and break with intensity, it must be brilliant to watch.
"We've got a winning mentality and a belief that it doesn't matter who we play, we can win. Everyone is buzzing in training and the lads believe we can go on do well.
"We'll just take each game as it comes, keep winning and see where we end up at the end of the season."
Spurs’ slim hopes of going through in the Europa League hinge on a win at Shamrock Rovers and PAOK Salonika beating Rubin Kazan.
Sebastien Bassong, who is desperate to stay in Europe, said: “We have got a big squad with quality players and only 11 players can start a game in the league.
"So we have to try to find a balance to make everyone happy.”
