Spurs to pay Modric £100k a week (report)

Tottenham are set to hand Luka Modric a new contract worth a club record £100,000 per week.

The £40million-rated midfield playmaker was the subject of a string of bids from Chelsea in the summer, but Spurs refused to sell.

Now, according to a report, the are planning to offer to make Modric White Hart Lane's first £100k per week player next summer.

However, the rise from his current £60,000 a week deal, which doesn't expire until 2016, is conditional on the north London side finishing in the top four this season.

The package also reportedly includes performance-related bonuses.
