Tottenham to swoop for Glen Johnson and Stephen Appiah

Tottenham are closing in on a double January swoop for Stephen Appiah and Glen Johnson.

Ghanaian midfielder Appiah, 27, is a free agent after leaving Fenerbahce in the summer.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp couldn't afford Appiah's wages when in charge of Portsmouth earlier this year.

But Redknapp is now set to get his man and also wants to take England full-back Johnson, 24, from his old club Pompey during the transfer window.
