Transfer gossip: Tottenham and Chelsea plan summer battle for Everton star

Tottenham and Chelsea have both set their sights on Everton midfield star Steven Pienaar, according to media reports.

The Goodison Park ace is out of contract at the end of next season and is thought to be keen on a move to a Champions League club.

Chelsea would certainly be able to offer him top level European football, and Spurs are also in the hunt for a top four finish this season.

Both clubs would be willing to meet Everton £13million valuation of the man who will be a key members of South Africa's team at the World Cup this summer.
