Curbs to hold talks with Fulham

Alan Curbishley is expected to hold talks with Fulham this week with a view to succeeding Roy Hodgson at Craven Cottage.
Curbishley’s trusted No.2, Mervyn Day, is already on the Fulham pay-roll in a scouting capacity for the club and will almost certainly be promoted to assistant manager having served under Curbishley at both Charlton and West Ham.
Curbishley hasn’t been in work since he resigned from the Hammers in September 2008. More than a year passed until he won a compensation claim against the club for constructive dismissal, which was finally settled in November 2009.
Despite being linked to a host of high-profile managerial vacancies, Curbishley has bided his time until the right opportunity presented itself.
However, in recent months he has conceded that he is finally ready to consider a return to management.
