Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill is facing a huge headache trying to revamp his squad.
O’Neill has to sell-to-buy this summer as Villa owner Randy Lerner makes cut-backs.
He has bids lined up for Spurs’ Robbie Keane and Celtic winger Aiden McGeady if James Milner joins Man City for around £25million.
But O’Neill is still struggling to move on Nigel Reo-Coker, Nicky Shorey and Steve Sidwell.
All three are surplus to requirements but have 12 months left on bumper contracts at Villa and will be free agents next summer.
The trio can expect bigger wages at their next club if they join on a free and midfielder Reo-Coker determined to leave on a lucrative Bosman.
