Villa ready to rescue McGeady from Russian nightmare

Aiden McGeady's short spell in Russia looks set to be over.
The former Celtic winger is being lined up for a shock move to Aston Villa as Gerard Houllier’s first January signing.
The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland star only signed for Spartak Moscow from Celtic last August for a whopping £12million.
His transfer made him Scotland’s most expensive export.
However, he has failed to settle in the Russian capital and Villa boss Houllier is hoping to nab him at a knockdown price.
McGeady shot to fame at Celtic where he lit up the wings in more than 180 appearances and scored over 30 goals.
But a bust-up with former manager Gordon Strachan left him unsettled and last summer he left Celtic Park after six years with the former Scottish champions.
