Birmingham set to land £11million Aiden McGeady this summer

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish is likely to get his man this summer with an £11million bid for Celtic winger Aiden McGeady.
The former Rangers manager, who knows McGeady well from his days in Scotland, has refused to take no in an answer in his quest to land the 23-year-old Republic of Ireland winger.
McLeish had an £8million bid for the much-coveted McGeady rejected in January but has the go-ahead from the St Andrews board to increase his offer in the summer window.
Celtic boss Tony Mowbray persuaded McGeady, who was unsettled by previous Parkhead boss Gordon Strachan, to remain at the club for the duration of his first season in charge.
But things have not worked out as Mowbray had hoped and, while he would prefer to keep McGeady at Parkhead, he may be tempted to sell to finance a massive summer rebuilding job.
And the word from Glasgow is that lifelong Celtic fan McGeady may be prepared to try his luck in the English Premier League.
Celtic number two Mark Venus has already dropped a broad hint that if the right offer is received for McGeady, then the Parkhead club could be prepared to do business.
But Celtic supremo Dermot Desmond is insisting that no offers under £10million will even be considered.
McLeish is also confident that he can make it a Scottish double by landing Rangers and Scotland centre forward Kris Boyd on a Bosman.
But he will face competition from Everton boss David Moyes.
