Blackpool after Everton striker

Blackpool are ready to make Everton striker James Vaughan their best-paid player in a loan deal – with a view to a full-time switch.
The newly-promoted club’s chairman Karl Oyston is digging deep to give Vaughan (above) a contract worth £10,000-a-week, plus appearance money, and hopes to sign him today.
Everton boss David Moyes was keen to sell Vaughan, 22, but is willing to allow a loan deal with the possibility of a permanent transfer to Blackpool next summer.
The striker is still likely to leave Everton at the end of his contract, but playing in the Premier League will boost Moyes’s chances of getting a reasonable fee for him at a tribunal.
