Inter: We'll fight United for Sneijder

Inter Milan last night confirmed that Manchester United want World Cup superstar Wesley Sneijder.
Massimo Moratti, owner of the European champions, said: “The interest from Manchester United in Sneijder is real, but I didn’t find it tempting. I’m following him at the World Cup and I think I’ll do the same also at Inter for the next few years.”
Mirror Sport revealed earlier this week that Sir Alex Ferguson was lining up a £25million bid to take the Treble-winning Dutchman to Old Trafford.
Sneijder, under contract until 2013, was deemed surplus to requirements by Real Madrid last summer and snapped up by then Inter boss Jose Mourinho.
The 26-year-old playmaker repaid the Special One with a string of top-class displays which helped the club to the Italian Cup, the Serie A title then the Champions League.
Sneijder has continued his hot streak with four goals to take Holland into Sunday’s World Cup Final and is now on course for a sensational grand slam.
United are willing to pay whatever it takes to get him because of his age and resale value – a pre-condition the Glazer family put on big-money signings.
But Sir Alex faces a battle to prise him away with former Liverpool sparring partner Rafa Benitez keen to hold on to Inter’s star player.
