Landon Donovan could return to Everton

News emerged this morning that Landon Donovan has said he could return to Everton on loan if a planned MLS players striker goes ahead.
The USA striker has just finished a 10 week loan spell at Goodison Park, in which he played 13 games for the Toffees.
MLS players are trying to negotiate a new deal to allow them greater freedom to move clubs but talks have hit an impasse.
If a deal is not agreed by March 25 the players will go on strike, potentially allowing Donovan to return to Everton.
"There's nothing concrete set up," Donovan said. "I think we've all been very clear about the possibility that I could go back if something happens. It's crossing that bridge when we get to it, right now."
"Nobody wants to go on strike if it can be avoided," he added. "We've made it very clear from the beginning that we're not trying to bankrupt the league and ask for tons of monetary increases. But we need basic rights if we're going to continue playing. We want rights afforded other players in other countries that we don't have. We're very unified on the way we think."
