Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is in talks with midfielder Amdy Faye after he turned out in a trial game in a bid to win a deal.
The former Stoke and Senegal star is a free agent and hopes to tie up a contract at Elland Road as Grayson looks for a new enforcer.
Faye is now favourite for the role after Grayson failed to agree a loan deal with Cardiff City for former Scotland international Gavin Rae.
