Liverpool's £4.5million flop Christian Poulsen could be offered an escape route to glamour side Monaco – on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old Danish midfielder has struggled since Roy Hodgson bought him from Juventus in August but he has emerged on the short list of the French Ligue 1 outfit, who say they want an experienced “destroyer”.
Poulsen could be allowed to leave if manager Kenny Dalglish finds replacements in the window.
Monaco say they are interested if the deal is right and if the cost of the transfer is inside their budget.
