David N’Gog is digging in his heels about leaving Liverpool - and putting off clubs with his £2million-a-year wages.
The French reserve striker has been offered to a handful of Premier League clubs and valued at £6million, but he wants to stay put at Anfield - despite his slim chances of a game.
West Brom, Newcastle and Bolton have all inquired about taking N’Gog on loan, which could yet be an option at the end of the window, but the bill is even bigger than expected because of his salary.
N’Gog could find himself squeezed further down the pecking order if Roy Hodgson lands any of his striking targets, but for now he is holding out for a crack at the first team.
