Liverpool scouting Brazil striker Damiao - report

Liverpool are ready to snatch Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao away from Tottenham, according to reports.
Kenny Dalglish's Anfield outfit have had the Internacional star scouted on six occasions recently, while assistant boss Steve Clarke was there in the flesh when the 22-year-old scored the only goal - his first strike for his country - against Ghana at Craven Cottage earlier this month.
Now Liverpool could launch a January move for Damiao, who nearly joined Tottenham in the last transfer window, according to Goal.com.
That would frustrate Spurs, who had a £16.5m bid turned down in August but who believe they are in pole position to sign the Brazilian after building strong links with Internacional over the signing of Sandro last year.
Damiao is currently out for six weeks with a hamstring injury.
