Mario Balotelli has put the brakes on a switch to Manchester City from Inter Milan because the club won't meet his £80,000-a-week wage demands.
Balotelli's agent Mino Raiola met City officials yesterday and was disappointed that the two sides could not reach agreement.
Afterwards a downbeat Raiola said: "It's not been said that we'll talk tomorrow."
Sources in Italy claim Raiola is hoping Chelsea and Manchester United will follow up their interest in Balotelli to put pressure on City to agree to their demands.
City have made all the running in the race to sign the Italian Under-21 and are reportedly ready to pay £23million to reunite the bad boy of the San Siro with Roberto Mancini at Eastlands.
Mancini is a big fan of the 19-year-old and brought him through at Inter in his last season at the San Siro.
