Fulham swoop for Birmingham target - Exclusive

Fulham hope to pip Birmingham to the £5million signing of AZ Alkmaar striker Moussa Dembele.

Brum boss Alex McLeish has been after the 23-year-old Belgium international for several weeks.

But McLeish has now conceded defeat saying: "Dembele has got other options and he is choosing another option.

"It is a blow because we have worked hard on that one - but that's life."

McLeish has also pulled out of a move for Italian international Mauro Camoranesi, who visited Birmingham earlier this week.

But the Scot has not given up his pursuit of Wigan winger Charles N'Zogbia.
