West Ham supremo David Sullivan is trying to thrash out a £12million deal for Nice forward Loic Remy.
Sullivan flew to France to negotiate terms and is willing to pay for the prolific striker in four installments.
But Nice, who claim Lyon and Bordeaux are also interested, want £8m up front and the rest a year later.
And finding that amount in one hit is a problem, with the Hammers reluctant to use all available funds on just one player.
