Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has had a move for Manchester United’s England keeper Ben Foster rejected.
The White Hart Lane chief is a big admirer of Foster and is desperately looking for a new keeper to challenge current first choice Heurelho Gomes.
But United knocked back a discreet enquiry from Spurs for Foster, who needs to start getting regular games in the Premier League to stand a realistic chance of getting into Fabio Capello’s World Cup squad.
Foster has been relegated to third choice at Old Trafford behind Edwin van der Sar and Tomasz Kuszczak and the England keeper could be ready to quit to preserve his international chances.
But United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted he will not loan out Foster and now it appears that bids will not be welcomed either.
