Tottenham are set to make a £7.5million move for England goalkeeper Robert Green.
The 30-year-old looks a certainty for the England World Cup squad in South Africa — and cash-strapped West Ham appear likely to listen to offers.
The Hammers have been linked with a move for Peterborough’s Joe Lewis and if that succeeds then they will be prepared to let Green go to White Hart Lane.
Lewis is tipped as an England international of the future and his wages will be significantly less than those being paid to Green.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has been delighted with the progress made by his £12m Brazilian Heurelho Gomes under the guidance of goalkeeping coach Tony Parks.
But he made an unsuccessful bid for Manchester United’s Ben Foster in the January transfer window.
It appears he is looking for a long-term replacement for Gomes with Green seemingly his preferred target.
