West Ham aim to hijack Birmingham move for Fulham ace

West Ham have emerged as a rival to Birmingham for the signature of Fulham full-back Paul Konchesky.
Konchesky has just one-year left on his contract at Craven Cottage and wants a fresh challenge.
Birmingham are favourites for his signature, but Barking-born Konchesky would prefer a move back to his former club West Ham, where he played from 2005-07.
If the Hammers pip Birmingham to Konchesky it could cause fresh friction between owners David Sullivan and David Gold and their St Andrews successors.
Sullivan and Gold recently had to settle out-of-court with Carson Yeung, who issued a High Court writ against them following his takeover.
