West Ham not laughing at 'jokers' Roma

Valon Behrami has been left 'disappointed' that he could not complete a transfer deadline day move to Roma.

The Swiss international was given permission to speak to the Serie A giants by West Ham, but the two clubs failed to reach an agreement over the price, with Roma believed to have favoured a loan arrangement while the Hammers were holding out for a fee.

Behrami said: "(Avram) Grant gave me permission to talk to Roma, and I'm very disappointed that the deal did not have a good outcome.

"The idea of Roma taking me on loan was considered a joke."
